Welcome to Sutherby Lane ~ An Australian children's label inspired by a love of timeless design, traditional craftsmanship, and the enduring nostalgia of childhood.
Each Sutherby Lane garment is thoughtfully designed to celebrate the artistry of hand-smocking & embroidery, offering a refined & heirloom-inspired alternative to modern childrenswear. Created with careful attention to detail, our pieces are designed to be cherished, worn & passed down for generations to come.
Our Story
Sutherby Lane was founded in 2020 by me, Lucy ~ the heart behind the brand, the designer of every garment, the "packer" of each & every order, and most importantly, a proud farmer's wife & mother to three young children.
From our small farmhouse nestled on my husband's family property in rural Australia, Sutherby Lane was born from a desire to create beautifully classic pieces that honour tradition while remaining practical for everyday childhood (yes, even for wear on the farm!)
What began as a creative outlet during maternity leave from my role as a registered nurse with my first baby has grown into a beloved children's label enjoyed by families both within Australia & around the world. Yet at its heart, Sutherby Lane remains exactly as it started ~ a small family business dedicated to celebrating the beauty of traditional clothing.
